Forest Schools- Summer 1
A great morning racing our bikes and scooters around the obstacle course. Everyone had great fun!
Today we finished making our snakes. We made holes in the Elder we had cut and then threaded them onto string before adding a tongue. Everyone was very proud of what they had made.
Everyone had fantastic fun in our first forest schools lesson. To link with our topic 'Amazing Animals' children learnt about the different animal groups and then began to make tree snakes using 'Elder'. You will have to wait to see what we create. Children are learning how to use a hacksaw carefully and ways to combined different materials to create different things.
World Book Day
Take a look at some of the fantastic costumes worn by children in Ash class on World Book Day.
Do you recognise any of the characters?
We had a fantastic time in class today, learning about Shrove Tuesday and making pancakes.
We measured out the ingredients and even helped to toss them.
The best part was eating them though. Yum Yum!
Spring 1: Number Morning
Thank you so much to everyone who came into Ash class for our Number Morning. We all loved sharing our activities with you. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Spring 1: Toys and inventions.
The children enjoyed bringing in their favourite toys to show the class.
We love robots!
The Foundation children in Ash class have been designing and building their own robots. Here are some of their creations!
We all had a fantastic time on our Christingle morning. Thank you to those of you who gave up your time to come and join in!
Merry Christmas Everyone !!!!!
Some of the children in Ash class have made Christmas e-cards. Click on the Christmas Card file that you would like to watch (below). Each file takes you to the e-cards some of the children in Ash class created as part of the computing topic this term. We hope you enjoy the unique animations each card contains.
In Ash class we believe in taking the time to develop each child's social and emotional well- being. This term we have been taking part in lots of role play activities to improve our communication and language skills and to help us to re-tell stories.
We have also used Role Play to tackle issues such as bullying and making relationships.
Autumn 2: Remembrance Day
To commemorate Remembrance Day, the children made rememberance cards and poppies.
We talked about the day and why it is significant. We also had a minute's silence! (which was a miracle)
Autumn 1: Art in Nature
This half term, we have been learning about the artist, Andy Goldsworthy, who uses natural materials to create his artwork. The children had fun exploring the natural resources and then creating their own pieces of art, using his work as an inspiration. I think you'll agree, they look fantastic!
Computing and E-safety
This term our class will be researching and making e-cards. We will learn about different child friendly search engines and learn how to use the internet safely. We will learn who can help us if something unusual happens when we are using the internet and how to keep our personal information private eg; passwords, logging on details.
Thank you to all the parents that attended parents evening, it was great to meet you all and have a chat about your child's progress. We hope you found the meeting informative and a positive experience and you are finding the resources we gave out helpful. You can also access the resources by clicking on the links below.
