Phonics Morning

We loved learning phonics with our grown ups during phonics morning. We enjoyed lots of activities both inside and outside of the classroom. We think our grown ups might have learned a few things about phonics too!

If you are a parent/carer of a child in Elm Class you can access our Class Dojo where you will lots of extra information about our class plus lots of reminders about upcoming events. Please see Mrs Norris or Mrs Affleck if you need another copy of your log in details.

Forest Schools

We have had an amazing time in Forest Schools over the last few weeks! We have made a model village from natural resources and we have used our senses to forage for materials to make a secret potion! We had great fun planting new bulbs in our school grounds too! We are really looking forward to using natural resources to make our Christmas decorations!! Have a look at photographs and see the fun we've been having!

Computing and E-safety

This term our class will be researching and making e-cards.  We will learn about different child friendly search engines and learn how to use the internet safely.  We will learn who can help us if something unusual happens when we are using the internet and how to keep our personal information private eg; passwords, logging on details.

Art/DT

In our art/DT lesson we have been learning about Andy Goldsworthy and his sculptures. We designed and created our own sculptures using natural resources such as leaves, twigs and conkers.

In our DT lessons, we are learning about the technique of weaving. We have tried weaving using a variety of loom frames and now we are designing a Christmas basket that we hope to make and fill with sweet treats just in time for Christmas!

English

We enjoyed making fruit kebabs in our English lessons! We read the story of Handa's Surprise and her basket of fruit and then we made our own fruit creations! Before we could eat them, we wrote instructions about how to make them! They were delicious!! Yummy!!!
