Key Person

Each child is assigned a Key Person when they join North Featherstone Foundation Unit. This person will be the first point of contact for both child and parent. During the first few weeks, the Key Person and child build up a strong bond, which helps the child to settle in, develop trust and feel safe and secure in their new environment. In turn, this enables the child to play, talk, explore and learn at ease, and therefore, reach his or her full potential. The Key Person liaises with the child’s parents to ensure the continuity of care between the school and home. The Key Person is responsible for your child’s individual needs, but the whole staff get to know all the children very well and have regular meetings to discuss observations made, and the next steps in their development
