Forest schools

Monday 23rd March 2015

Minibeasts was the theme for our forest schools this week.  We first made a spiders web using wool.  It took quite along time however we enjoyed playing 'fly, fly, SPIDER!'.  After that we went into the forest schools area, on a minibeast hunt.  Creepy! Furry! Wriggly! We found them all!!!!!!!

We made bread this week in forest schools, it tasted delicious with a little honey and butter.  We learnt some very important things about keeping safe when lighting and using a fire to cook on.

Monday 9th March 2015

Today we made collages with different natural materials in the 'Forest Schools Area'.  We found all sort of different materials from mud, leaves, bark and grass to feathers and stones.  The children first created a frame for their pictures and then let their imagination go wild.  Just look at what they created!

Monday 2nd March 2015

It was a freezing morning but this didn’t dampen the spirits of the children. Their task was to build an island with lots of different buildings and structures for the little ‘seedlings’, whose houses had been trampled by the naughty dragon, Sneezy.

Our first forest schools session with Mr Pearson.  After some quick warm-up exercises the children and parents worked together to make a den.

Thank you to Mum's and Dad's for your enthusiasm and help in the session, it was such good fun!!
