Welcome to Saplings

We learn, we discover, we make friends, we play, we try our best, we ask questions, we laugh, we express ourselves, we create.

Fabulous Forest School

Our sixth week at Forest School was fabulous.  We had a camping theme and the children explored den making.  Mr Pearson tested the dens to see if they were waterproof.  The children also took turns to toast marshmallows over a camp fire.

Morning session

Afternoon session

We have been learning about Brazil linked to the 'World Cup.'  The children have taken part in learning experiences on the themes of rainforest animals, tropical fruits and the Rio carnival.  We made rainforest animals from paper plates, sampled fruit kebabs and reenacted a carnival in the hall, through dancing with ribbons and music making.  We also had a Saplings' penalty shoot out!

In our class the curriculum is based on the framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and we deliver this through a play-based and teaching input approach. The curriculum is organised in a way which meets each child's individual needs and interests. Below are some useful links that will provide you with some further information related to the EYFS:
